La berce du Caucase – Giant Hogweed

Une plante dangereuse ! - Beware this plant!

Avant de commencer notre “heure du conte” nous avons regardé une photo d’une berce du Caucase. Cette plante est très  dangereuse. Contact avec la sève peut causer des brûlures graves, des ampoules et des cicatrices. Si les yeux sont exposés, elle peut aussi rendre aveugle. Cette plante existe à Montréal ! On ne doit pas la toucher !

Giant Hogweed

Today before we started our French story time, the children and their parents were shown a picture of giant hogweed and explained that if they see any they should not touch it. Hogweed is fairly new to our area, but it now exists in Montreal. Contact with its sap can cause burns and even blindness.
